Sewn News by artist Lauren DiCioccio based out of the Bay Area, California was born and raised in Philadelphia. She received her BA from Colgate University in 2002 studying art and art history.

Her hand-embroidered collection of Sewn News are issues of the New York Times encapsulated by colors, fabric, and thread.

I select a photograph from the paper; usually a strong image suggestive of power, leadership or communication; and embroider the image onto the fabric, applying colors in a painterly way and layering line and thread.
