Portraits made with beach plastic by artist Annarita Serra.
Since 2000 Annarita Serra has been collecting pieces of plastic from a beach in Sardinia (Italy) during the winter, after it has been washed up by the sea.
She cleans it, divides it by color and then nearly all the pieces are combined to give birth to works of art, ranging from portraits to sculptures to point out the deleterious effect of plastic debris on the marine environment: the cause of death of many marine species.
