Artist Kristen Cumings recreated famous paintings with Jelly Belly jelly beans!
A few years ago, Jelly Belly officially hired painter and illustrator Kristen Cumings to produce several works of art to add to their collection entitled Jelly Belly Masterpieces of Confectionary Art. The California-based painter takes about 50-60 hours to complete the life-size paintings made of approximately 9,000 to 12,000 jelly beans each. The enormous 4 x 6 feet murals each depict a classic work of art, from Vincent can Gogh’s The Starry Night to Johannes Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring.

Cityscape made with stacked books by Chinese artist Liu Wei. The hanging installation above is titled, ‘Don’t Touch’ and is made from stacks of schoolbooks held together by steel rods and wood clamps. You can check out Liu’s exhibit at Almine Rech Gallery until May 16th, 2012.

The art of peeling tangerines was first developed six years ago by Yoshihiro Okada. He takes a tangerine peeling to another level and peels the entire tangerine in one piece. Check out the video after the break.

The Red Dress is an installation and performance space designed by South Korean artist Aamu Song. The dress is worn by one singer and is made up of 550 meters of fabric, 20 meters in diameter, and 3 meters in height which can accommodate up to 238 people.
The artist says, “I wanted to create the ultimate relationship between an audience and a vocal musician by connecting them with something other than just music“.
REDDRESS aims to question the roles we play as the participant or performer, as well as elevating the experiential boundaries of this versatile relationship.
